Cycle II – The Masks

This series explores identity, memory, and the traces left by knowledge.
Each craftsman makes masks using his own material — leather, parchment, gold thread, gems, stone, metal, glass, wood, plant…
The shapes vary, the textures change, but all bear witness to the same symbol: what matter can reveal of the ancient world.

The Bookbinder

A craftsman of knowledge and written memory, he recreates the presence of the living through leather, golden threads, pages and engraved motifs.
His works are not mere ornaments: they embody order, thought, imagination, and the traces that a mind leaves behind.
Each mask carries within it a discipline, an idea, a creative impulse frozen between leather and parchment.

The Faces of Knowledge

This set explores the relationship between knowledge and the face we present to the world.
The masks take on the appearance of connected, engraved or decorated forms: volutes, order, dream, glory, instant.
Each visual expresses a structured thought, a contained emotion, a fragment of wisdom drawn from the material of the book.
