When the colours of the ancient world faded, some artisans chose to recreate them.
Thus was born L'Atelier des Mondes Perdus , a place where each creator gives new form to lost beauty through the material he masters.

Cycle I – Butterflies

This cycle brings together the first rebirths.
Each craftsman shapes butterflies according to their own material — fabric, stone, glass, metal, wood, flowers…
The shapes vary, the colors change, but all bear witness to the same symbol: the return of life to matter .

The Bookbinder

Guardian of ancient words, he recreates life from the material of books: covers, leather, pages, bound fibers and threads.
His art breathes new life into forgotten works, as if each binding still held a trace of life ready to unfold.

Leather Butterflies

This set explores the depth of brown hues, the noble texture of antique bindings, and the quiet strength of a living being fashioned in worked leather.
The butterflies appear to be cut, shaped and assembled from fragments of old leather, like outer pages that have regained movement.

Each image reveals a different nuance:
a dark butterfly emerging from a time-worn cover, a tawny wing reminiscent of an old book, a warm texture evoking traveling books, a patinated breath from ancient roads.
